More often than not, someone in my family will walk into a room and find me there...just sitting and staring into space. Usually I'm supposedly reading or ought to be doing something else at the time. They'll ask, "What are you doing?" and I guilitily say, "Nothing," and get back to business. Well I'm not guiltily saying nothing anymore. I'm thinking. Deep thoughts or not...it's a worthwhile pasttime. And that is all. Amen.
Dear M,
ReplyDeleteWhen you find out a better excuse than the guilty nothing, please to let me know. My response of such is generally viewed with intense suspicion, and "thinking" doesn't come across much better.
Yours,

postscript: yay for you posting again!
I've found that I just reply honestly and say thinking. If I get the followup of what am I thinking about, I just tell them, wherever I am in my current train of thought.
ReplyDeleteI find that usually avoids that person from asking me the same question in the future, which is fine by me!
